Hoya Pubicalyx
The Hoya Pubicalyx is a tropical climbing species from the Apocynaceae family, renowned for its decorative foliage and spectacular flowering. Native to the Philippines, this plant is often called a “wax plant” due to the glossy, thick texture of its leaves and flowers. It stands out for its fast growth, elongated leaves speckled with silver or pink depending on the variety, and its star-shaped flower clusters in shades of deep purple, dark pink or almost black. These flowers, sometimes intensely fragrant, form spherical umbels containing up to thirty small fleshy stars.
Thanks to its ability to climb or cascade elegantly, the Hoya Pubicalyx is ideal for hanging baskets or indoor trellises. Highly appreciated for its natural elegance, it suits both beginners and Hoya collectors, as long as its essential needs are respected.
