Hoya Imperialis Alba
The Hoya Imperialis Alba is a rare and elegant form of the Hoya Imperialis, famous for its large pure white to cream-colored flowers. This breathtaking variety stands out not only for the impressive size of its inflorescences, but also for their immaculate shade that creates an atmosphere of purity and refinement. Like its red counterpart, this tropical plant features vigorous growth and dense foliage, making it an ideal choice for enthusiasts seeking a spectacular and floriferous plant.
The foliage of the Hoya Imperialis Alba is leathery, elongated oval in shape, with well-marked central veins. The leaves are arranged alternately along long flexible stems which, in cultivation, require solid support to develop harmoniously. The plant can thus reach several meters if provided with suitable conditions. During flowering, it produces umbels of large star-shaped flowers, often slightly fragrant, measuring up to 7 to 10 cm in diameter. Unlike other Hoyas, this variety flowers abundantly when light and humidity are properly balanced.
🌞 Bright filtered light: ideal near an east- or north-facing window
🚫 Direct sun: avoid to prevent leaf burn
🌸 More light = greater chance of abundant flowering
🌱 Spring / summer: water regularly when the surface of the substrate is dry
🍂 Winter: space watering, especially if the plant is kept in a cool place
⚠️ Too much water = fragile roots, spotted and wilted leaves
The right reflex: it is better to slightly underwater than to maintain prolonged excess moisture.
🌡️ Ideal range: between 20 and 28°C
❄️ Do not expose below 15°C
💨 Avoid drafts and sudden temperature changes
🪨 Recommended mix: succulent potting soil, perlite, and a little fine bark
🌸 Season: generally in summer
🌼 Flowers: large, white to cream, sometimes fragrant
🕑 Duration: several days per umbel, sometimes staggered flowering
