Echinopsis Ferox
The Echinopsis Ferox is an impressive cactus with a fierce appearance, immediately drawing attention with its imposing stature and powerful spines. Belonging to the large genus Echinopsis, this specimen stands out for its ability to reach large sizes, its globular to cylindrical habit, and its sculptural aesthetic.
Its bright green epidermis is marked by prominent, deep ribs, along which large areoles bear formidable straight or slightly curved spines, sometimes reddish to brown when young. This cactus embodies robustness and adaptation to the most extreme South American desert conditions.
Over time, the Echinopsis Ferox can form large columns, sometimes branching at the base, and produce a spectacular flowering that contrasts with its rugged appearance. Its large white or pale pink flowers, highly fragrant, open at night and are often visited by nocturnal pollinators.
Temperature differences are significant in its habitat, with hot days and cold nights, explaining its great resilience.
