Echinocactus Horizonthalonius
The Echinocactus Horizonthalonius is a jewel of the Mexican desert, appreciated for its compact globular shape and its powdery blue-gray coloration. Sometimes nicknamed the “button cactus,” it is easily recognizable by its rounded, few ribs and its curved spines arranged like a star around the areole.
This slow-growing cactus can reach up to 25 cm in diameter and usually forms a single stem. Its epidermis is often coated with a whitish wax that protects it from UV rays. The overall appearance resembles a mineral sculpture, making it highly prized by collectors.
Flowering is one of its most spectacular features: large magenta-pink flowers open at the top of the plant, beautifully contrasting with the cool color of the cactus body. Its beauty lies in the balance between desert robustness and floral delicacy.

🏠 Overwintering: Indoors in a bright location as soon as temperatures drop below 5°C.
