Echeveria Orpet

This hybrid cultivar is highly appreciated for its lotus-shaped rosette, pastel tones, and great ease of cultivation. The leaves of Echeveria Orpet are fleshy, slightly pointed, and arranged in a spiral, forming a compact rosette about 10 to 15 cm in diameter. Their color ranges from soft green to pale blue and pink depending on sun exposure. When properly stressed by light or cool nights, it displays a spectacular gradient from a pale green center to rosy tips.

Easy to grow, this cultivar tolerates occasional watering neglect and adapts to many environments. In pots, on balconies, or indoors in bright light, it thrives effortlessly.

Echeveria Orpet is a horticultural hybrid, probably resulting from a cross between Echeveria Derenbergii and other small species. It has no natural origin but inherits the robustness of the Mexican species from which it descends.

One of the strengths of Echeveria Orpet is its ability to respond beautifully to light: the more exposure it receives, the more vibrant its colors become.

🏠 Indoors: Requires a well-exposed south- or west-facing window.

⚠️ Avoid: Prolonged shade, which causes stretching.

Like all succulents, Echeveria Orpet prefers slight neglect to overwatering.

🌱 Spring / Summer: Water about every two weeks, only when soil is completely dry.

🍂 Autumn / Winter: Once per month at most, or not at all if temperatures are low.

🚫 Warning: No water in the rosette.

Not very cold-hardy but not frost-resistant, Echeveria Orpet must be protected from cold.

❄️ Minimum tolerated: 5 °C if dry.

🏠 Tip: Keep in a bright, unheated room during winter.

🪨 Recommended mix: 50% cactus soil + 25% perlite + 25% pumice for optimal drainage.

Its flowering is not spectacular but has subtle charm.
