Euphorbia Leucodendron Cristata
The Euphorbia Leucodendron Cristata is a fascinating and highly decorative form of the species Euphorbia Leucodendron, characterized by crested growth rather than straight stems. This rare mutation gives it a sculptural, undulating appearance, like a vegetal coral emerging from another world. Highly appreciated by collectors and lovers of original shapes, it easily finds its place in a collection of euphorbias or graphic plants. Its light green to bluish-green color, sometimes enhanced with silvery reflections, highlights the sinuous curves of its crests, making each specimen unique.
In cultivation, this crested form generally remains compact but can widen considerably over the years. It sometimes develops a classic cylindrical base that supports the fan-shaped part, like a natural rootstock. It is a plant that inevitably attracts attention, ideal for enhancing a shelf, a bright corner or even a collection of botanical curiosities.
🌞 Bright light to full sun: It can be exposed directly to the sun, especially if gradually acclimated. Indoors, place it near a large window or south-facing exposure.
🌤️ Filtered light: In summer, slight protection may be necessary to avoid burns during very hot days.
💧 Growing period (April to September): Water every 20 to 30 days, always checking that the substrate is dry.
❄️ Rest period (autumn/winter): Space watering as much as possible, or stop completely if the plant is kept cool.
⚠️ Excess water is often fatal to this crested form.
🌡️ Ideal: 20 to 28 °C in summer.
❄️ Minimum: Never drop below 10 °C. It does not tolerate frost and must be grown indoors in temperate regions.
