Orbea Semota
A true “fleshy star” of collections, Orbea Semota is a creeping, offsetting succulent that quickly forms a mat of angular stems, grey-green to olive-green, lined with regular conical teeth. Compact under strong light, Orbea Semota keeps short, turgid segments with clean areoles; in shade, stems elongate and lose relief. In shallow bowls or hanging baskets, it creates a contemporary graphic effect, perfect for a bright shelf or temperate veranda.
For watering, adopt the rhythm “thorough watering then complete drying”: hydrate deeply only when the mix is dry, then allow it to dry completely. This cycle prevents root suffocation and conditions flowering. Orbea Semota enjoys moving air; a bright, ventilated room limits mealybugs and lingering odors after blooming. In summer, a protected outdoor stay (gentle morning sun, bright afternoon light) densifies stems; in winter, reduce watering significantly in a bright, cooler setting.
